Fall, Pumpkins, and Thanks!

Mmm...the smell of fresh baked pumpkin bread! The changing of seasons is always so exciting and I love seeing God's creation in a new way.  How creative of him to make four seasons where we can see the beauty of His works in different ways.  Fall has its beauty in colorful yellow and red leaves, crisp fresh air, whimsical windy days, and of course RAIN! I was so happy to see the rain this year as it turned my grass from summer brown to lush green : ) 
As I was decorating for fall I found a sign I bought on clearance last year.  It has a big wooden pumpkin on it and says "Give Thanks".  At first I was not going to put it up thinking that November 24 was too far away.  Then I thought how really we should have an attitude of Thanksgiving all the time.  This year I want to make a tradition of fall being a season of thanksgiving and not just one day! 

Psalm 75:1 "We give thanks to You O God, we give thanks; For Your wonderous works declare that Your name is near."

Mother Daughter Retreat

Coming this October 14 & 15...my mother and I will be speaking at Camp Gilead's Mother Daughter Retreat.  I am so thrilled about this oppertunity to encourage daughters! I admire my mother for her wisdom and ability to communicate God's truth to other women.  For many years I have gone with her to different speaking engagments so it will be neat to speak along side her.  Look at the brouchure to find more information about what the retreat will be like.

Life is beautiful with Christ

In our moments of making life happen, cooking for family, attending church, hosting baby showers, reading, cleaning, keeping in contact with family, it seems that we can loose our self in our own life.  It happens so quickly!  Today was one of the relaxing moments that are far outnumbered by the busy ones.  After spending the last 3 days pouring our selves (my husband and me) into a wonderful God-fearing conference, I came home and awakened to a glorious sunny morning! I stepped outside and sat myself in a comfy chair on the green grass, closed my eyes and savored the moment.  It was a time of reflecting on God's goodness, taking in the warm golden rays that feel as if they are straight from heaven, and listening to the soft sweet songs of birds lifting their voices in praise to the Lord.   My prayer was filled with deep gratefulness and thankfulness to God for His provision in my life.  Not often enough do I stop and think of his glory and how beautiful life is with Christ.  This world will always be filled with turmoil, disasters, wars, and disappointments, but when our hearts are intertwined with Christ's love, it makes it so beautiful!  Words cannot describe this, and I am continually amazed at how He works in my life daily!  Life with Christ is a beautiful adventure!
